MH 50 | Salt & Stillness

A barefoot retreat in Amioun. Salt & Stillness blends Greek ease with bohemian warmth, an open sanctuary of stone, linen, and light.

Set in the quiet hills of Amioun, Salt & Stillness is a 42 sqm retreat designed for pause. A haven where time slows, it merges the serenity of Greek simplicity with the warmth of bohemian living, a space conceived for young couples seeking calm, connection, and a return to the essential.

The concept revolves around barefoot luxury, comfort without excess, beauty without noise. White plastered walls glow softly against rough stone and sun-warmed timber, their textures breathing under shifting daylight. Linen curtains move gently with the wind, filtering light that rests on neutral tones and hand-finished surfaces. Every material was chosen to feel familiar yet refined, natural yet elevated.

The interior unfolds as a single, fluid gesture. Living, dining, and kitchen flow seamlessly into one open space — a rhythm of connection that extends outward to the terrace and pool. The architecture invites the outdoors in; stone floors continue beyond the walls, blurring the line between shelter and landscape. From the first morning light to the hush of dusk, the home breathes with its setting.

Bedrooms follow a softer rhythm. Each opens to the outdoors through full-height glazing, offering framed views of olive trees and horizon. The palette remains minimal, linen, limewash, wood, and woven textures, creating a sanctuary where touch and stillness speak louder than color.

Outside, a terrace shaded in wood and fabric wraps around a calm pool. It’s a space meant for slow mornings and long afternoons, for solitude, laughter, and moments that stretch.

Salt & Stillness embodies the ethos of quiet living. It’s not a house that asks for attention, but one that restores balance, an architecture of air, grain, and shadow. A reminder that luxury can be humble, and that retreat can be found not in distance, but in design.
